Welcome to Li-F Jewellery. I am Lia Fletcher, the face behind this unique line of jewellery, which I create using hand-painted Delft blue and polychrome (multi-coloured) shards, and combining them with sterling silver.

A few years ago, I realised that I wanted to do something relaxing and creative in the evenings and on weekends after my busy work days as a translator. Driven in part by my desire to recycle materials wherever possible, I approached a leading Dutch manufacturer of Delftware pottery, and obtained my first box of irregularly shaped, genuine hand-painted shards. I soon began to turn them into one-of-a-kind pendants and other jewellery.

At first, I used only Delft Blue shards, but soon was also offered hand-painted polychrome Delftware shards, which gave me the option of further expanding my jewellery line. Each unique piece of jewellery is formed entirely by hand, filing and shaping, simply following the natural curves of the shard.

Flawed items of original hand-painted Delftware are smashed in the factory. Any flaw that might have existed in the original piece, however, has been carefully smoothened during the crafting of jewellery. Nothing is wasted, because I feel that every piece, however small, is precious and can be used.

My jewellery line consists of a constantly changing collection of pendants, rings, earrings, and ear studs. In addition, I am happy to create customised pieces. I hope to add other unique Delftware jewellery to my collection in the near future.
